Recent leaks have detailed what the game’s map might look like at launch, providing plenty of crucial details. As a result, many of these details feature various points of interest (POIs), including location names, estates, and teleport waypoints.
Genshin Impact Leaks – New Sumeru POIs and Areas
Genshin Impact update 3.0 will mark the introduction of the Sumeru region, its associated element, Dendro, new characters, and more lore for travelers to dissect. Over the past few months, we’ve covered leaks covering the grand scale of the region, from its size to renders, designs, and in-game biomes.
Several new leaks have since surfaced online, which will give travelers a promising look at the newly introduced region, including updated points of interest, location names and domains that will be active at launch.
The first of these leaks comes from notable dataminer, Ubatcha, who provided a card almost finished, including place names, teleport waypoints, and important points of interest; some areas of the region are shaded, indicating locked locations that will be made available in later updates.
Some of these points of interest mainly appear at the location of Sumeru City, one representing Sumeru Akademiya, which is east of a teleport point on the map. Additionally, a few points of interest mark the locations of Estates and Artifact Sites scattered across the map.
The second Sumeru map leak comes from a newly credible dataminer, Naevis, who posted first look pictures of certain areas of the region. While it is yet to be determined which domains are featured in these images, some of these domains appear to be mostly subterranean, indicating a subsection region to be added post-launch.
The following Sumeru map leak doesn’t fully give us an overview of the map details, but does provide some gameplay footage of the region’s desert area.

While Sumeru’s deserts look majestic at first glance, they are quite vast and dense, and judging by the map, the desert is located on the western side of Sumeru, which has not yet revealed any waypoints.
Speaking of Waypoints, it’s worth mentioning that Sumeru has as many teleport options as other regions like Inazuma and Liyue. Most of the waypoints are in West Sumeru, many of which are located around Sumeru City and Avidya Forest, with more or none to be added when launched.
As mentioned earlier, the Genshin Impact 3.0 update beta is still ongoing at the time of writing, so many of the details revealed are subject to change before the full release. Likewise, we will endeavor to provide more updates once more reliable information becomes available.
